1. Start a New Work Order Template from the Correct Project
- Work order templates are used to speed up future work order creation.
- First, decide which project the template should belong to.
- Go to Projects and select the relevant project from the list.
- Scroll to the Work Order Template section and click New Template.
2. Enter the Template Basics
- Give the template a clear title.
- Example: Installation of Wireless Access Points
- Choose the main project manager for the template.
- Add any additional work order contacts that should be included when a work order is created from this template.
- Click Next to continue.
3. Fill Out the Job Details and Scope of Work
- On the Job Details page, complete the work order information.
- Use the built-in AI tool to generate a scope of work from the work order title.
- Review the generated details and confirm they look correct.
- Add the fields to the work order and continue.
- In this example:
- Planned action is set correctly
- No confidential information is added
- No special certifications are required
- Skills are left blank
- Click Next when finished.
4. Add Documents to the Template
- If there are documents that should always be included with this template, add them here.
- These documents will appear on every work order created from the template.
- You can:
- Toggle documents on from the project, or
- Drag and drop files from your computer to upload them directly
- Click Next after adding the needed documents.
5. Generate and Review Tasks
- Move to the Tasks section.
- Use the AI tool again to generate tasks based on the work order overview created earlier.
- Review the generated tasks to make sure they match the job.
- Save the tasks if they look correct, then scroll down and click Next.
6. Set the Payment Terms for the Template
- Define how much you plan to pay technicians for work orders created from this template.
- In the example, the template is set to:
- Fixed $500
- Allow payment negotiation so technicians can counter-offer when the job is published to the marketplace
- Click Finish to complete the template.
7. Confirm the Template Was Created
- After finishing, you are returned to the project.
- You should now see the new work order template listed there.
- Example template name: Installation of Wireless Access Points
8. Use the Template When Creating a New Work Order
- Go to the Dashboard and click New Work Order.
- Select the desired project, such as Burger Express.
- Open the template dropdown.
- Choose the template you created.
- This confirms the template is available and ready to use for future work orders.
